Staregic planning of the organization

(Module 1)

Course Description

The course “Strategic planning of the organization” describes the vision and approaches to writing the strategic development plan of the organization. Course also shows the ways to do the organization SWOT analyses and show the ways from diagnosis to the development of the strategic plan, how to monitor the strategic development of the organization, how evaluate and  how to update it  if necessity arises. 

The objective of the  course is to build  know-how regarding the finding out the values of organization, what steps to be addressed from diagnoses to the development of the organization strategy, how to monitor, evaluate and modernize the strategic  development plan to reach the planned objectives and strategic goals.  

Target audience

Representatives of the local regional authorities of Kakheti, representatives of partner business industries and university staff (the diversity of participants will give course leader a chance to open the live discussions from different perspective) 

Expected learning outcomes:

Participants will have the opportunity to understand  what the strategic development plan of the organization is

Participants will get information how to define the vision, mission and values of organization

Participants will study how to do the SWOT analyses of their organization and how to move from diagnosis to development of the organization strategy. 

Participants will write the draft strategic goals of their organization

Participants will understand the process of monitoring, evaluating and updating of strategic development plan pf their organization.

Didactical Approach

Preparatory work:

Participants should bring their organization strategic development plan (if applicable).  

 During the course:

  • Participants should take an active part in the group work activity (elaborating of draft version of strategic development plan of organization). 
  • Presentation of the plan in front of the group.

Why should be a strategic development plan developed.  

How to define vision, mission and the values of organization

From diagnosis to the development of the strategy

SWOT analyses

Benchmark analyses

Participants are asked to distribute the information about the possibility of attending course in their organization  

At the end of the course participants are given the Certificate of attendance.
