Polish and Romanian professors visit at Telavi State University

On November 15-17, Professor Ursula Markowska-Manista of University of Warsaw (Poland) and Associate Professor of Transylvania University of Brasov (Romania) Daniela Popa were guests at Telavi State University. The visit was carried out within the framework of the ERASMUS+ project CISI ("Innovations in the curriculum to support social inclusion") funded by the European Commission.

With this project, three new courses were developed, the piloting of which began in Thesau in the 2022-2023 academic year. These courses are:

  1. Methodology of teaching students with intellectual disabilities;

  2. Teaching methodology of students with learning disabilities;

  3. Methodology of teaching students with language, speech, communication disorders.

The guests, as a result of monitoring, positively evaluated the implemented new courses.

Also, they conducted training/seminars for special education teachers of Tesau partner schools (I, IV, V, VII, VIII) on the following topics:

  • Developing behavior management plans for children with challenging behavior and

  • Discipline of students with special needs.

The international project CISI ("Innovations in Curriculum to Support Social Engagement"), co-financed by the European Commission, has been implemented at Telavi State University since 2019. The main goal of the project is to promote the social inclusion of people with disabilities by improving the quality of inclusive education in schools.
