Meeting with the Tourism Sector Representatives

Presentation of the projects being implemented at TeSaU in the field of tourism was held at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.

At the meeting tourism sector representatives were familiarized with two projects:    1) project funded by the European Commission – “Establishing long-lasting partnerships to upgrade heritage-based offers and create new investment opportunities in tourism and the cultural and creative industries at UNESCO designated Areas in the Black Sea Basin” (BSB 831-HERIPRENEURSHIP) and 2) project funded by Telavi State University  - “Telavi and Innovative Tourist Routes”.

EC funded project - BSB 831-HERIPRENEURSHIP - will be lasted within the period of 30 months. The project partners are: Development Agency of Kavala, Greece; The “Danube Black Sea” University Foundation, Romania; Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities; National Inbound Tourism Association of Moldova; Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, Georgia; Eastern Black Sea Development Agency, Turkey.

The project representatives presented information about the planned activities and services to be introduced after the project accomplishment period.

As for the second project – “Telavi and Innovative Tourist Routes”, the meeting participants were familiarized with the new tourist routes of Telavi. During the meeting it was denoted that the project provides printing the guidebooks for tourists and preparing the informational booklets as well. The project is entirely financed by Telavi State University itself.  

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the local authority, tourism department and different private tourist organizations, academic staff and students of the University tourism field. The attendees expressed their desire to contribute  to the project.
