On 28 September 2026, a meeting was held within the framework of the YALA (BSB01271) project with the Sighnaghi Municipal Youth Advisory Council.

Project Expert Shalva Chkadua delivered a presentation on youth participation in public affairs and the role of youth councils in local change.

The discussion focused on listening to young people’s needs, identifying issues that matter to them, setting priorities, and exploring how youth councils can formulate concrete proposals and engage in dialogue with local government. Described youth council work as a structured process of listening, prioritising, developing proposals, dialogue, and feedback.

Young participants actively shared their opinions, discussed local needs and challenges, and presented their views on possible solutions.

Meetings of this kind create opportunities for youth perspectives to be reflected more clearly in the local agenda and for young people to take a more practical role in decision-making processes.

The YALA (BSB01271) project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme.
