A training on plagiarism was held in the framework of Erasmus+ ETHICS project at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.

The forum - Round Table, within the framework of the DUGEOR project funded by the European Commission, was held at the Technical University of Georgia.

Employees of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University were in Novi Sad, Serbia within the framework of DUGEOR, a project funded by the European Commission.

A workshop "STEM - STEAM practice in formal education" was held for science teachers of the Kakheti region at the Faculty of Education Sciences of the Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, in the ESTA Science Laboratory.

On October 11-13 of this year, the employees of Telavi State University attended another working meeting at Akaki Tsereteli Kutaisi State University, within the framework of the international project "ETHICS".

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University together with universities of Georgia and various European countries, participated in the international conference held within the framework of the European Union "Erasmus+" project.

At Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University named, within the framework of the international project ESTA, the conference "Development of language skills in natural science teaching" was held. In the 2021-2022 academic year, teachers from different municipalities trained within the framework of the ESTA project shared their experience with the conference listeners about the natural science learning modules focused on the development of language skills introduced in the educational process.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University has joined Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in the memorandum of mutual cooperation on the establishment of the inclusive education support network and future communication within it. The parties to the memorandum are Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Akaki Tsereteli State University, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and three non-governmental organizations, the Education Development and Employment Center, "Mariani" and the Movement for an accessible environment for everyone.

The students of the 3rd year of the "integrated bachelor's and master's educational program" of the Faculty of Education Sciences of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University named conducted integrated lessons based on the CLIL approach in the public school of the village of Duis in the Pankisi valley. The lessons, at the elementary level, include the integrated teaching of natural science and Georgian as a second language. The activity was carried out according to CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) in Science on Primary Level, a training course developed within the framework of the international project ESTA.

On May 2-5, 2023, they visited Charles University (Czech Republic) within the framework of the European Union Erasmus + project "Responsible Conduct of Research - Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities" (ETHICS).

On April 18-23, 2023, within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ project DITECH (Developing and Implementing Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning at Georgian HEIs), a meeting of project participants was held at the University of Cork (Ireland). The meeting was dedicated to the activities carried out within the project. Their quality was evaluated and future activities were planned.

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ international project ESTA, a meeting was held at Ilia State University in Tbilisi. Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Professors  Nino Modebadze, Tamar Mikeladze and Natela Bagatrishvili presented the other members of the consortium the materials reflecting the activities, trainings and workshops held in TeSaU under the project.

Tamar Mikeladze, professor of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Education Sciences, will implement the winning project at Radboud University in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The research project in the field of foreign language teaching will last for three months.

On October 12-19, 2022, members of the Tesau project of the international project ESTA ("Educating Science Teachers for All") - coordinator-professor Nino Modebadze, Assoc. 

Rector of Telavi State University, Mrs. Irma Sioshvili, hosted Mr. Marty Kaszubowski, Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Consultant of George Mason University (America). TeSaU Rector introduced the results of the research carried out at the university to the guest and talked about the patents that were created on the "innovation base" of the university.

On November 14, trainings on research commercialization, technology transfer and innovative researches for academic staff started at Telavi State University. The trainings are being leaded by Mr. Marty Kaszubowski, Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Consultant of George Mason University (America).

On May 4, presentation of the research results carried out by European University researchers about the teaching of common (European) values ​​in Georgian schools was held at Telavi State University Faculty of Education Sciences, Children’s Rights Knowledge Centre as part of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project "Advancing European Values ​​and Standards in Georgian Schools”.  

The cycle of trainings for natural science teachers takes place at the Faculty of Education Sciences.

On November 15-16, 2021, the national meeting of the EU Erasmus+ project DITECH was held at Telavi Iakob Gogebashvili State University team. Georgian universities involved in the project and the National Center for Teacher Professional Development participated in the meeting.

On November 26th, representatives of UNICEF granted books to Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. 32 English editions combine publications about Preschool Education BA Programmes. As the visitors mentioned during the meeting that was held in TeSaU, the abovementioned books will help lecturers and students in conducting scientific researches promoting expansion of students’ interests.

Presentation of the Project –  “Alaverdi Necropolis Epigraphs” was held at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. The scientific catalogue, authors of which are Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University professors, covers the monographic research about the gravestones located on the adjacent territory of Alaverdi Cathedral and the grave epitaphs existing within the interior of the cathedral.

TSU International School of Economics (ISET) has been offering students an international model of e-learning based on the latest technologies since March 16. Interactive online lectures in pilot mode started today. Rector of Tbilisi State University Giorgi Sharvashidze and Head of the International School of Economics Tamar Skhulukhia attended the start of the e-learning process.

Ghent University (Belgium) Professor Jan Peeters has visited Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University faculty of Education Sciences.

The President of Georgian Student Organizations Association Aleksandre Mukataridze and European Student Union delegates paid a visit to Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on July 12th.

Tourism Department representatives from Munich University of Applied Sciences, Germany visited Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on May 30th.

On November 12-16, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Assistant-Professor Ana Gigauri and Associate Professor, Head of the University Quality Assurance Office, Shalva Tchkadua attended the training at the University of Porto (Portugal).

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Professor of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Law, Ia Jimshitashvili visited Linkoping University (Sweden) on December 2-8.

Deputy Head of the Mission, Consul of the Embassy of Hungary, Ms. Anikó Farkas along with Tempus Public Foundation representatives conducted informational meeting at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on December 10th. The meeting dealt with the scholarship programmes of  Hungary for the academic year 2019-2020.

Swedish Government is announcing scholarship programmes for the academic year 2019-2020. The programmes are intended for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, as well as for master’s level students.

On November 26th, testing in English language took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University that was organized by TeSaU International Relations Office.  

Retraining trainers in innovative teaching and learning methods has started within the framework of Erasmus+ PRINTeL project – “Change in Classroom: Promoting Innovative Teaching & Learning to Enhance Student Learning Experience in Eastern Partnership Countries”. The first training week was held at Graz (Austria) FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences on November 5-9 concerning hybrid learning/teaching.

Informational meeting, concerning educational exchange programs in the United States of America, was held at Telavi State University on November 6th, 2018.

New projects were planned among Telavi State University and the partner universities of Lithuania, Spain, Czech Republic, Israel and Romania. Decision about the implementation of new projects was made during the closing meeting of the EU funded project “Developing Programs for Access of Disadvantaged Groups of People and Regions to higher Education’’. The meeting was held at Masaryk University, Brno on October 7-12, 2018.

On October 8^th, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University hosted the Chairman of Estonian-Georgian Community Zaza Tsereteli, Professor of Tallinn University of Technology, director and co-founder of E-MAP Foundation MTU Vlad Vernygora and other respectful guests as well. During the meeting the parties discussed about the elaboration of joint educational grants project in which TeSaU will be actively involved.

On September 17-18^th of the current year, Telavi State University Representatives participated in II consortium meeting of the international project INTEGRITY.

Telavi State University representatives visited Uppsala University (Sweden) within the framework of the project “Academic Integrity for Quality Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Institutions in Georgia (INTEGRITY)” on August 29-31.

II International Scientific Conference “Education, Research, Practice” was opened at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on September 28^th.

On July 25th of the current year, an internal meeting took place at Telavi State University Library Hall. The meeting was arranged within the framework of the international project “INTEGRITY”.

Under  ERASMUS+ PRINTEL 585760-EPP-1-2017-1-AM-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP   project “Change in Classroom: Promoting Innovative Teaching & Learning to Enhance Student Learning Experience in Eastern Partnership Countries”,  working meeting with students and academic staff was held  at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on July 13, 2018.

Terry Burte, French Embassy Attaché for Scientific and University Cooperation is interested in the educational programs of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University and potential of the field of agriculture.

Memorandum of cooperation with Frankfurt Integrative School will be renewed from the next year.

Scientific Forum dedicated to 100th anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Georgia took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Humanities on July 5-6 of the current year.

On July 5th, doctoral student Eka Kobiashvili defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Humanities for obtaining academic degree of the Doctor of History. The title of the dissertation work is “The National-liberation Movement in Georgia in the First Half of XIX Century” (academic supervisors: Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Teimuraz Vakhtangishvili and Doctor of History, Associate Professor Malkhaz Tsirekidze).

Telavi State University is involved in new international project “Academic Integrity for Quality Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Institutions in Georgia (INTEGRITY)”. The first workshop of the project was hosted by Vienna University on February 12-16^th and Telavi State University representatives took part in it.

Further training courses in using modern teaching technologies will be available for Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University academic staff and students from the new academic year at TeSaU. With that purpose, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University representatives were at Barcelona (Spain) and Porto (Portugal) Universities on June 11-16, 2018.

A solemn farewell ceremony for IV course bachelor students of the faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. Administration of the University congratulated alumni completion of their studies.

Chairperson of Southern Africa Georgia Chamber of Commerce Marius Heyns visited Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on June 29th. On his initiative, a memorandum will be signed by Southern Africa Stellenbosch and Telavi State Universities. The memorandum provides exchange of students and staff, implementation of joint researches in the field of viticulture-winemaking.

In the scope of the memorandum signed with the Black Sea International University, Turkish language lessons are conducted at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University annually. TeSaU students and staff have an opportunity to take a complete language course.  

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Associate Professor of the faculty of Humanities in the field of Georgian Literature, Nino Gogiashvili has been to Bologna Alma Mater University on May 7-20, under Erasmus+ mobility programme. TeSaU Professor conducted lectures concerning comparative analysis of Georgian and Italian poetry that is the postdoctoral research outcome implemented at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

The next meeting under the EU funded project UNISON (University-Enterprise Cooperation via Spin-Off Companies Network) was held at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) on June 10-11. The meeting was about the quality of ongoing activities and work implemented under the project, evaluation procedures, development of website and virtual portal.

On June 18-23, the next working meeting was held at Haifa University (Israel) within the framework of the EU funded international project DARE (“Developing Programs for Access of Disadvantaged Groups of People and Regions to Higher Education“). The meeting was attended by the project members and students from partner universities.

On May 13-17^th, Kutaisi State University hosted training for the professors of Georgian Universities. The training was held under the international project “Academic Integrity for Quality Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Institutions in Georgia (INTEGRITY)”.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Assistant-Professor Medea Metreveli has been to the University of Bologna, Italy from April 16^th to May 1st under Erasmus+ exchange programme.

Virtual aspects of teaching and learning will be introduced at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.

Within the framework of the international Project UNISON, Santiago de Compostela University (Spain) hosted training for the Project member University representatives.

The next consortium meeting of the DARE Project, funded by the European Commission, was held at Sokhumi State University and Ilia State University on November 20-23.

Swedish Institute Alumni Association in Georgia, with the support of Swedish Institute (SI) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, is implementing Sweden government scholarships project. 

Boys’ regional tournament named after the famous Telavi volleyball player, Zaliko Maisuradze took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on November 24^th.

The international conference for the specialists of the field of grapes cultivation, organized by “AVENTROSarl” company, “Agrocenter” and “Альпика Агро” LTD, took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on October 2-6. 

Exposition of the American Photographer and Ethnographer, Edward Curtis, took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on November 1.  The exposition covered the photos and posters depicting American Indian’s life.

On October 31st, PhD student of Typological Linguistics doctoral educational program defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Dissertation Board of the faculty of Humanities.

IV International Scientific Conference “Intercultural Dialogues” took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on October 27th, in which scientists from Georgian, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Japanese, American, Turkish, Ukrainian and other leading universities of the world were involved along with TeSaU.

Telavi State University representatives, under the international project – “UNISON” – attended the meeting at Berlin University of Applied Sciences.

A training – “Action Research at School” – took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Education Sciences on October 13th.

Estonian expert of education, Ene-Silvia Sarv together with the representative of “UNICEF”, Natia Jokhadze have been to Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on October 9^th.

   On October 3, International Relations office held the information meeting about Erasmus + Exchange program.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University and the MIA Academy of Georgia.

The list of projects funded by European Commission for 2017 is revealed. Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University will be involved in two EC projects with the status of the partner university. Implementation of the projects is taking its start in the current year.

On June 23, dissertation defense of Saffet Bayraktutan took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University faculty of Education Sciences. The title of the dissertation was “The Concept of the Supportive Information Technologies in the Effective Management and Control of Teaching Quality in Secondary Schools” (scientific supervisor: Professor Guram Chachanidze).  

On June 23, dissertation defense of Khatuna Kharkheli took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University faculty of Education Sciences. The title of the dissertation was “The Role of Formal and Informal Letters in Development of Writing Culture (While Teaching General English at Higher Education Institutions)”.

On June 22, doctorate student of the Typological Linguistics educational program defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Dissertation Board of the faculty of Humanities. The title of the dissertation was “Linguistic Expression Models of Simile in Different System Languages” (scientific supervisors: Professor Nunu Geldiashvili and Professor Manana Garibashvili).

“Lessons by Classics” – 25^th scientific conference dedicated to Mukhran Machavariani took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on June 16.

Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), in cooperation with Georgian Government Administration and with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Sweden Government and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is implementing a project – “Supporting the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Georgia”. 

Two more students of Telavi State University will get education at Tuscia University, Italy from the next academic year. It was agreed during TeSaU Rector’s visit to Tuscia University.

XIX (75^th) Scientific Conference of Professor-Teachers and Doctorate Students took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on June 5.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University hosted Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Georgia, Janis Zlamets on May 16.

International conference, dedicated to 94th anniversary of public leader Heydar Aliyev, took place at Ganja, Azerbaijan on May 4-5, 2017. The topic of the conference was “Actual Problems of Natural Sciences”. Among the conference participants were professors from the higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan, France, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and Georgia.

The project – “Accessibility beyond Physical Environment”, supported by Sweden Embassy and Swedish Institute (SI), is being implemented in Georgia within Europe Days. 

International Scientific-Practical Conference “National Economics in the Conditions of Global and Local Transformation” was held at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on May 5.

PhD student of the Doctorate Educational Program of Modern and Nearest History, Maka Buliskeria defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Humanities on March 2. The title of the dissertation work is “For the history of International Estimation of Russian-Georgian War in August 2008” (academic supervisor – Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Elguja Mamukelashvili).

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University successful students, who won in Erasmus+ programme contest, departed to Turkey and Austria for getting education there.

The Academy of Agrarian Sciences of China port city Yantai is interested in Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Soil Chemical and Microbiological Research Laboratory.

Under the joint project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection, a conference was held on January 18, 2017 at Environmental Information and Education Centre, Tbilisi. The conference was organized by LEPL Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection and supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The conference topic was – mercury.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University students, who gained success in Erasmus+ programme contest, departed to Italy.

The title of the dissertation work is “Typological Relations of Conveying Expressiveness of Rhythmic Prose in Georgian and English Languages (academic supervisors: Professor Manana Garibashvili and Professor Nunu Geldiashvili).

PhD student Irakli Giorgadze defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of  Humanities on February 2. The title of the dissertation work is “National Movement Peculiarities in Georgia (in 20-90ies of XX century)”. Academic supervisor is Professor Elguja Mamukelashvili, doctor of Historical Sciences.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Agrarian Sciences became the winner of the project Restoring Efficiency to Agriculture Production (REAP).

PhD student Nino Baluashvili defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Education Sciences on January 27. The title of the dissertation work is “Developing Reading Comprehension through Literary Texts (Phenomenological Study)”, (academic supervisor – Associate Professor Tamar Mikeladze).

 PhD student Ia Nadiradze defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Humanities on January 26. The title of the dissertation work is “Typological Relations

of Novella Language in the Georgian and English Languages” (academic supervisors: Professor Nunu Geldiashvili and Professor Manana Garibashvili).

PhD student Mehmet Tahir Tekin defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Educational Sciences on January 12. The title of the dissertation work is “Research of Effectiveness of Preparation Courses of FEM Academy (Frat Educational Center) in Erzurum on the Education System and Labor Market of Turkey (academic supervisor – Professor Nino Modebadze).

Students’ scientific conference “Antibiotics and Antibiotic Resistance” (supervisor – Associate Professor Shorena Tukvadze) took place at “Media Club Georgia” on December 17. It was organized by “Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy”.

On December 23, dissertation defense of Adem Onal took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Educational Sciences. The title of the dissertation work was – “Research on Internationalization Indicators of Education on the Example of LLC “Chaglar’s” Education System” (academic supervisor – Professor Nino Modebadze). 

Dissertation defense took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences on December 22.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University project – “Textual Criticism and Editorial Studies” (supervisor – Professor Ketevan Gigashvili, co-supervisor – Professor Maia Ninidze) – won Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation grants contest of the development of structured PhD programs and got the grant in the amount of 216 422 GEL.  

On December 16, 2016, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Department of History carried out inner university scientific conference dedicated to Ivane Javakhishvili 140th anniversary.

The conference – “Digital Aborigenes… We are Bukelebi… Episode First” took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on December 15. It was organized by TeSaU and the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences. The participants of the conference were V-VI grade pupils from Telavi Municipality Public Schools.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University two projects won the state scientific grants contest of fundamental researches. 

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University students became the winners of Erasmus+ exchange programme contest and they got an opportunity to study at foreign partner universities within a semester of 2016-2017 academic year.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the National Center for Teacher Professional Development, Georgian Primary Education Project (G-PriEd) and 9 higher educational institutions, amongst Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on November 18. The memorandum provides attraction of qualified and professional teachers, as well as cooperation for training future specialists.

The National Center for Teacher Professional Development conducts pedagogical trainings at Vocational Educational Institutions that aims to introduce new, modular programmes in vocational education.

The International Conference on Literature and English Language Teaching took place in Abu- Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on November 18-19. The conference was organized by Abu-Dhabi University and TESOL (Sudan).

DARE Consortium meetings are taking place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.

The first plenary session was opened by TeSaU Rector on November 21. Irma Shioshvili greeted the professors from the Universities of Israel, England, Czechia, Romania, Lithuania and Georgia and wished them success. According to the Rector, after the multicultural project DOIT, DARE is the second successful one that gained great approval of EC (European Commission) experts. Along with the other European universities, Telavi State University is actively involved in the mentioned programs as well.

Representatives from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University “Children’s University” visited Telavi State University on November 18th.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Professor, linguist Roin Chikadze was awarded the Certificate of Honor by Georgian National Academy of Sciences.

Telavi State University IV year student of the faculty of Humanities (specialization – History), Maia Akhalkatsishvili gained success in the contest announced for getting Dimitri (Arzakan) Emukhvar and Zhiuli Shartava scholarships. The contest was announced on the initiative of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia that involved students from different higher educational institutions of Georgia.  

International scientific conference will be held in Pankisi Gorge in May 2017.  The decision about the abovementioned was made by the President of the Academy of Sciences, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Rector and Duisi Public School pedagogues during the meeting.

Under the joint project of Writers’ House of Georgia and Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University – “Conversations on Literature” – Tamar Japaridze conducted a public lecture “William Shakespeare’s Theatre” at TeSaU on October 27th.

 On October 10-14, 2016, training courses in Clinical and Laboratory Haematology took place at Ferrara University (Italy). The courses were delivered under the EU program TEMPUS funded project – “The Development of a Curriculum and Establishment of a Regional Training Platform for Haematology in Medical and Fundamental Sciences (DECERPH)”. 

On October 21st, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University International Relations Office arranged informational meeting on Erasmus+ exchange programmes for TeSaU students. 

On October 21st, Tartu (Estonia) University Professor conducted a public lecture “Economic Policy Basics” for Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University students of the faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Law. 

On October 19, 2016 Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University International Relations Office carried out informational meeting for those who wish to take internship in Germany.

One-month manufacturing practice at Frankfurt Integrative School in the field of inclusive education will be available for TeSaU students of the faculty of Educational Sciences.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Professor of the faculty of Educational Sciences, Nino Nakhutsrishvili visited the Republic of Estonia on September 24-30.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy satisfied TeSaU requirement for finance renewal and appropriated funds for supporting Italian language teaching.  It was mentioned by Antonio Enrico Bartoli, the Italian Ambassador in Georgia, during the Italian Room opening ceremony at Telavi State University on October 14th. 

Vilnius Business School head of Quality Management Service shared her experience with Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University professor-teachers on October 12th. She made a presentation about Vilnius Business School educational programmes and international projects.

According to the data of 2016, by providing the quantity of EU funded projects, TeSaU occupies 6th position among 39 Georgian Higher Educational Institutions. National Office of Erasmus+ published the renewed statistics on September 15th.

   Within the scope of “Student Days 2016”, the first round of original performances was held in the hall of Georgian Technical University on May 20. Telavi State University students presented the original performance “Jisho Japiano” (instructors: M. Gremelashvili, N. Khumarashvili, L. Guliashvili). 

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Rector Irma Shioshvili and Head of International Relations Office Tamar Aslanishvili visited Jade University, Germany on April 25-30, 2016. The leaders of the universities signed the memorandum of cooperation providing tight interrelation in the fields of science and education. 

Students’ scientific conference combining 700 Georgian students took place at Akaki Tsereteli State University on May 10-11, 2016. Amongst was Maka Botkoveli – Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University student of the faculty of Humanities. She presented the topic – “Vanta Archeological Excavations”. Maka turned out to be amongst those 130 successful students who were awarded with the certificates.   

The closing conference of the “Tempus” project “SuToMa” – “Development of New Modules 
for International Bachelor and Master Programmes in Sustainable Tourism Management” – was held in Wilhelmshaven, Germany on May 9-12.

Sardar Yusubov – PhD of the Doctoral Educational Program of Education Sciences defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Education Sciences on March 24. 

On March 18, 2016, the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement gave accreditation to the Teacher Preparation Educational Program presented by Tesau. The Program contains 60 ECTS credits. The graduate will be awarded with the Teacher Preparation certificate and have the right to teach in the selected field. 

 Number of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University entrants is increased. 3 370 school-leavers are registered at Tesau in the current year.

Last year 3 131 person had a desire to get education at Telavi State University. 

According to the first three options, 852 entrants were registered at Tesau last year, whereas their number is increased up to 1048 this year.

 “Erasmus” (ESL) International Network representatives visited Tesau on March 17.

The Network president and vice-president introduced ESL activities and future projects to the University International Relations Office staff and students. 

The second training under the Rural Development Program of Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on March 15.

Preparation for “Automated Education Management System” (AEMS) has been taking place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University since August 2015.

On March 9, presentation about the above-mentioned system was attended by Iakob Tesau Rector Irma Shioshvili, Rector Deputies, deans, heads of different offices and departments.

“Open Door’s Day” took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. On March 3, Tesau hosted 11th and 12th grade pupils from Kvareli, Dedoplistskaro, Signagi and Lagodekhi Municipality Public Schools. The meeting was attended by Rector deputies, deans of the faculties and heads of Quality Assurance Services. They made an exhaustive report concerning various accredited educational programs at the university, international relations, local and international conferences, cooperation agreements with different organizations and future career perspectives for students.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University students and Vaja-Pshavela Telavi Dramatic Theatre artists introduced journalist Nato Megutnishvili’s creative works to the society. 

Telavi I Public School Pupils visited Tesau Lab financed from the Presidential Reserve Fund on March 2nd. They examined the Lab equipment and attended the lesson of Biology conducted by the pedagogue Nana Garjikauli.

Education and Career Fair “future4you”- 2016 took place at Telavi Vaja-Pshavela State Dramatic Theatre on February 26th. According to the organizers, the project aims to help students in choosing their future profession and find jobs easily.

Different regional organizations had an opportunity to have direct contact with job seekers. 

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University was actively involved in the project. Tesau representatives made a detailed presentation on professional and academic education and labor market vacancies. 

“Doors Open Day” took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. On February 23, Tesau hosted 11th and 12th grade pupils from Telavi and local municipality public schools.

The meeting was attended by Rector Deputies, Deans of the faculties and heads of Quality Assurance Services. They made an exhaustive report concerning various accredited educational programs at the university, international relations, local and international conferences, cooperation agreements with different organizations and future career perspectives of students.  

After the meeting public school pupils inspected Telavi State University study labs, reading and conference halls, computer centers, Archaeology room, Journalism Center, Law Clinic, Turkish Language Center and other rooms equipped with modern technologies.  

A Peace Corps Response Volunteer - Joe Dwaileebe conducts communicative competence workshops at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. 

Session I of the workshops was held on February 15-16, 2016; Session II will be held on February 18-20 at Telavi State University Library. 

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University International Relations Office announces a contest for participation in “Mevlana” Exchange Programme for the academic years 2016-2017 in Rize University, Turkey.

Under the abovementioned project, a meeting was held at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on February 12th.  

PhD student of English Language Teaching Methodology Doctoral Educational Programme, Tamta Nadirashvili maintained a thesis at the faculty of Educational Sciences on February 12th, 2016. The subject of the dissertation work was “English Language Vocabulary Teaching/Learning Strategies and Techniques at Universities (While Teaching a Foreign Language)”. Academic Supervisor: Doctor of Education, Associate Professor Ira Danelia.

Rehabilitation works taking place in the building of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University faculty of Educational Sciences were finished.

The rehabilitated cabinets were examined by the University Rector, Irma Shioshvili on February 11th. Presentation was attended by Deputy Rector, professor-teachers and administration representatives.

With the support of the National Archives, Telavi State University professors will work on the unexplored material. This is the first time for conducting the research about the history of Telavi. The project aims at investigating the tendencies of Telavi development at the end of XIX century and in the first twenties of XX century on the basis of authentic, original archival sources.

PhD student of the Doctoral Educational Program of English Language Teaching Methodology, Tamta Nadirashvili is maintaining a thesis at the faculty of Educational Sciences on February 12th, 2016 12:00. Exposition of felt handicrafts took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University faculty of Educational Sciences on January 8th.

Georgian Flag Day was celebrated on January 14th. Students erected Georgian national flags in the frontier regions of the country accompanied with the national hymn.
Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University students were involved in this great event as well. Representatives of Tesau Students’ Self-government erected the national flag over the administrative building in Lagodekhi, afterwards they participated in Tbilisi events.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University and Caucasus University Professor, Tengiz Simashvili conducted a lecture-presentation on December 2nd. The subject of the lecture was “Telavi at the beginning of XX century” (revolution and political parties, local terrorists and Stalin on the background of newly searched archival materials).

The Minister of Justice of Georgia visited Telavi State University on December 3rd. Tea Tsulukiani made a presentation about the Juvenile Justice Code.

On December 4, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University International Relations Office carried out examination in English and German languages under ERASMUS+ program.

On December 3, 2015, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) with the support of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) conducted a civic education seminar for Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University students. The seminar covered the topic “Gender Equality and Gender Violence in Georgia”.

Tesau male volleyball players’ team successfully competes for students’ volleyball championship. Telavi State University volleyball players defeated teams from the University of Georgia and Technical Universities. They passed on the next stage. The winner of the tournament that will take part in the championship will be revealed at the end of December

On December 9, Tesau Dramatic Circle students carried out a literary event – “Akaki’s Georgia” at Telavi State University library hall.
The performance dedicated to Akaki Tsereteli’s anniversary covered the life and creation of the writer. Students recalled Akaki’s rhymes and songs.
The event was attended by Telavi State University Rector, professor-teachers, students and famous artists from Telavi Theatre.
Tesau Dramatic Circle (instructors: Nona Khumarashvili and Lali Guliashvili) has gained triumph on “Student Days” and in different arrangements many times.

Presentation of the book – “Description of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of Georgia” (I-II volumes) took place at IakobGogebashviliTelavi State University on December 10.

“Georgian Center for Security and Development” implements the project – “Youths for Security”. Within the project, the mentioned Non-governmental Organization will select 10 students and organize 3-days visit for them in different corresponding organizations and agencies in Tbilisi. Students will have a chance to submit projects. The best 3 projects will be supported by “Georgian Center for Security and Development”

The republican conference – “School and University III” was held at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on December 14, where pupils read their reports prepared by PhD students of the faculty of Humanities.
Pupils from Tbilisi and Telavi Municipality public schools took part in the mentioned arrangement. Their topics were diverse covering the ancient and contemporary Georgian writing.

A new academic and research project – “Reinforcement of Modern Research Practice in Regional Rural Institutions” will be implemented at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.

On December 16th Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University hosted the representatives of Israel Haifa University and Gordon College.
Under the project, financed by the European Committee, a working group including Rhonda Sofer, Galit Caduri and Rabia Basis met with Tesau Rector and International Relations Office staff. Situation existing in Tesau and Israel Higher Educational Institutions was analyzed during the meeting.

The scientific-research project – “Technology of Restoring Degraded Lands” was ended on November 1st, 2015.
Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Agrarian Sciences, as well as Kutaisi and Akhaltsikhe State University Agrarian Faculties (project presenter – Non-commercial Legal Entity “People’s Harmonious Development Society” (PHDS), project director – Davit Nazarovi) were involved in the investigations carried out on the pilot plot.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University students’ team “Herodotus” from the faculty of Humanities (specialty – History) gained the title of Tesau champion in intellectual game “What? Where? When?”.
In the final meeting carried out on December 28, the historians defeated the team “L-S-D” consisting of students from different faculties of Tesau.

On 24th of November, PhD student of the educational programme of Education Sciences – Tamar Mamsikashvili maintained a thesis at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University faculty of Educational Sciences. The subject of the thesis was “Scientific Bases of Managing Modern School that Provides General Education” (supervisor – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Guram Chachanidze; reviewers: 1. Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Ketevan Nanobashvili,
2. Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Nino Modebadze

Exponents, namely, the manuscripts dated by 1914-1918 were given to Ivane Beritashvili Museum. The unique documents include materials depicting development and experimental works of Physiology as the subject. They also contain personal letters; reports read from different forums, the book “Memories about Ivane Beritashvili” and so on.

On November 25th, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University International Relations Office arranged an informational meeting regarding the contest announced under ERASMUS+ programme for Tesau students.

Representatives of Non-governmental Organization “Center for Democracy Intensification” conducted a lecture at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on November 20. The meeting about the topic “Learn More about Your Rights” covered the meaning of the association agreement with Europe.

Under the anti-corruption week a public lecture will be held for students at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on December 11, 12:00. The subject of the lecture is “Georgia’s National Anti-corruption Policy and Society Involvement Processes” (address: #1, Kartuli Universiteti Street, Telavi).

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Professor, Ketevan Gigashvili made a presentation about 6th volume of the Academic Publication of Georgian Writers’ Epistolary Legacy dated by XIX-XX centuries at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.
The publication includes Grigol Orbeliani’s personal letters kept in different archives. 535 letters are already published for today; hence, 154 are published for the first time.

Students International Scientific Conference honoring to the 80th Anniversary of Shota Rustaveli State University was taking place in Batumi within September 25-27. About 100 students from Georgian and foreign higher educational institutions were taking part in it. Among them were the students of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University: Maradi Pitskhelauri – fourth course student of the faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences (educational programme – Ecology) and Archil Botkoveli – fourth course student of the same faculty (educational programme – Informational Technologies).

The process of issuing diplomas is taking place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. Course-graduates of 2014 will get high quality diplomas corresponding to the modern standards.

On 15th of October Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University faculty of Educational Sciences was visited by the “Day Center” pedagogues of the foundation “New Life”.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Dean of the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences, associate professor Manana Kevlishvili has been to Spain, Valencia Polytechnic University for carrying out scientific researches under the “Erasmus Mundus Electra” project.
Manana Kevlishvili was involved in joint scientific research works conducted in fields of chemical composition of the soil, movements of elements in plants and food products.

The Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC) made a discussion about “Gender and Policy of Education” at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on October 21.
The participants of the discussion considered different manifestations of gender oppression, spoke about labor migration, Georgian history of feminism and other problems.
At the meeting, the reporters emphasized the policy of education as well and the factors hampering youths in getting perfect higher education.

Volleyball tournament took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on October 22. The participants of the competition were teams of Tesau faculty of Educational Sciences, faculty of Agrarian Sciences, technical personnel and university administration employees.
In the final meeting, the teams of technical personnel and the faculty of Educational Sciences were competing to each other.

Informational meeting regarding the projects of youths’ platform “Libandaki” and “League of Fluent Debates” – “School of Freedom”, Competition of Essays and Debates was held at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on November 5 of the current year.
