Dissertation Board of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Humanities conferred Tamar Shiukashvili the Academic Degree of the Doctor of Philology.

Dissertation Board reviewed Tamar Shiukashvili’s dissertation work – “Typological (Comparative – Contrastive) Analysis of Georgian and English Folk Tales” on July 14th, 2016. (Academic supervisors: Professor Nunu Geldiashvili; Professor Manana Garibashvili). 

The aim and objectives of the work is the typological (comparative-contrastive) analysis of folk tales based on the Georgian and English materials; identification of isomorphs and allomorphs between two languages and the detection of universals based on the contrastive analysis. Structural-semantic relations of folk tales are identified as a specific task of the dissertation.
