The workshop “University - Industry Cooperation: Georgian Case Studies" was held within the framework of Erasmus+ project VitaGLOBAL on December 15th.
The event was organized by Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University and supported by Georgian Technical University. The meeting was directed in online because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Among the workshop participants were representatives from TeSaU, GTU and other VitaGLOBAL project partner universities from Europe, South America and South Africa as well. At the online meeting, the opening speech was made by the president of the project (OBREAL) coordinator organization, Ramon Torrent (Spain). During the meeting the attendees discussed the University-Industry cooperation cases, importance of cooperation for local development and Georgian case studies in that regard. The importance of the involvement of industry in teaching/studying process taking place at university, research activities, especially in the field of agriculture and viticulture-enology were also emphasized during the online meeting.
It is worth mentioning that the project VitaGLOBAL provides making a global network in the field of Agrarian Sciences and Viticulture-Enology with the help of joint programs internationalization. It also aims at promoting the development of joint teaching programs in the abovementioned fields representing the strategically essential matter for Europe, South America, South Africa and Georgia.
Except for European Universities, Universities of South America (Chile, Uruguay, Argentina) and South Africa are also involved in the project.
