The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the National Center for Teacher Professional Development, Georgian Primary Education Project (G-PriEd) and 9 higher educational institutions, amongst Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on November 18. The memorandum provides attraction of qualified and professional teachers, as well as cooperation for training future specialists.

Before signature, a workshop was organized for the professor-teachers of Georgian higher educational institutions, where the conception of the following study courses – “Innovative Methods of Mathematics at Primary Level” and “Literacy and Mentality”, elaborated syllabi projects and school practice syllabus were presented. Professor Nino Nakhutsrishvili and Assistant-Professor Tinatin Tushabramishvili were actively involved in preparing and presenting the abovementioned syllabi.

Georgian Primary Education Project (G-PriED) represents the project financed by USA International Development Agency (USAID) that has been implementing since 2012 under the agreement of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The project goal is to promote innovative, student-based teaching. 

The Memorandum benefit was already reflected on Telavi State University: Georgian primary education project portal www.kargiskola.ge is available now for III and IV course students of primary education.  

Under the project, other activities were implemented at Telavi State University as well, namely, the new study courses have been made for the Bachelor Educational Programme of Education.
