On April 6th, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University hosted Nato Public Diplomacy representative, Ted Whiteside. 

The American diplomat spoke about the North-Atlantic Alliance at the meeting with professor-teachers and students. Discussion had the form of dialogue.

As Ted Whiteside mentioned, Nato, that represents the voluntary union of its member countries, struggles for peace, freedom and democratic values.

The meeting dealt with the matter of Georgia’s integration with North-Atlantic Alliance as well. According to the diplomat, Nato door is open for all entrants. This is the opportunity for countries and not the compulsion, or obligation.
