The Scientific-research Centre of Caucasus was established at Telavi State University in November 2015 and it has local staff of researchers. Formation of the special Committee at Georgian National Academy of Sciences that studies the national problems was the basis for the establishment of the abovementioned Centre. The Committee, made on the initiative of His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, is staffed with famous scientists and public figures. The main goal of the Committee is to reestablish old, traditional relations with the North-Caucasian people. One of the Committee members is Telavi State University Professor, member of Pankisi Gorge Board of Aldermen, Zaur Gumashvili, who is going to present his viewpoint about the integration of the Gorge population in a documentary form. Telavi State University Scientific-research Centre of Caucasus has already prepared a project, that will promote settlement of Pankisi Gorge problems and consolidation of cultural, traditional relations with the North-Caucasian people. Georgian National Academy of Sciences is planning to involve the Centre in great international projects. For details, please, see the link
