On June 16th, the representatives from different higher educational institutions of Ukraine visited Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.

New partnership relations have been established between Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University and Polytechnic University of Milan. The parties planned future exchange programmes and joint researches during the visit to Italy paid by TeSaU Rector Irma Shioshvili, Head of International Relations Office Tamar Aslanishvili and other administrative staff.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants in favor of foreign citizens not residing in Italy and Italian citizens living abroad (IRE) for the academic year 2019-2020 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation, to promote Italian language and culture and to support Italy’s economic system in the world (According to Law 288/55 and its subsequent changes and additions).

Within the framework of the project VITAGLOBAL, co-funded by the European Commission, the second meeting was held at the University of Porto, Portugal on May 1-4. The meeting was attended by Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Head of International Relations Office, Tamar Aslanishvili and Dean of the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences, Manana Kevlishvili.

5^th International Scientific Conference – “Intercultural Dialogues” will be held at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on October 25-27, 2019.

At the end of July, the best Georgian students will take a trip to Chateauneuf town, France. Selection process of students has already started. In order to participate in the selection process, twenty students from Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Agrarian Sciences are already taking free courses in French language. Four students, selected according to the contest, will be familiarized with French wine making standards, French Organic Farming and French culture within two weeks.

Lithuanian and Polish Ministries of Foreign Affairs are announcing Student Essay Competition on the Future of the Eastern Partnership Policy for the Ministers’ of Foreign Affairs Award. The competition is open to all students from the universities of the Eastern Partnership countries.  All essays should be written in English.

Within the framework of the “INTEGRITY” Project, a meeting with the students of the faculties of Educational and Agrarian Sciences is holding at TeSaU conference hall (floor II) on October 23^rd. It is starting at 12:00.

During the meeting, students will get information regarding the negative impact of plagiarism on student’s academic course and principles of anti-plagiarism software maintenance (Turnitin).

TSU Arnold Chikobava Institute of Linguistics is inviting to participate in 39th Dialectological Scientific Session that is dedicated to 120th anniversary of the Academician Arnold Chikobava.

On July 5th, doctoral student Eka Kobiashvili defended dissertation at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Faculty of Humanities for obtaining academic degree of the Doctor of History. The title of the dissertation work is “The National-liberation Movement in Georgia in the First Half of XIX Century” (academic supervisors: Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Teimuraz Vakhtangishvili and Doctor of History, Associate Professor Malkhaz Tsirekidze).

Telavi State University is involved in new international project “Academic Integrity for Quality Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Institutions in Georgia (INTEGRITY)”. On his initiative, a memorandum will be signed by Southern Africa Stellenbosch and Telavi State Universities. The memorandum provides exchange of students and staff, implementation of joint researches in the field of viticulture-winemaking.

A solemn farewell ceremony for IV course bachelor students of the faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences took place at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. Administration of the University congratulated alumni completion of their studies.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Associate Professor of the faculty of Humanities in the field of Georgian Literature, Nino Gogiashvili has been to Bologna Alma Mater University on May 7-20, under Erasmus+ mobility programme. TeSaU Professor conducted lectures concerning comparative analysis of Georgian and Italian poetry that is the postdoctoral research outcome implemented at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Within the framework of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) the Government of India announced admission to short, medium and long-term study programmes in 250 different courses of about 25 fields for the academic years 2018-2019. 30 places, in total, are separated for Georgia.
