Akaki Tsereteli Kutaisi State University became the coordinator of EC funded Erasmus+ institutional development (CBHE) project “Role of Universities in the Regional Development” in 2019.

Four European universities  Santiago de Compostela (Spain), University of Graz (Austria), Masaryk University (the Czech Republic), Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania), all Georgian regional universities, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement are also involved in the project. In cooperation with the abovementioned project participants Akaki Tsereteli Kutaisi State University is fulfilling the national project that aims to increase the role of Georgian regional higher educational institutions in the regional development.

Within the framework of RURD project, the national meeting was held at Akaki Tsereteli Kutaisi State University on February 17, 2020. The project consortium Georgian regional university representatives participated in the meeting. The meeting was also attended by Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Rector Irma Shioshvili, Head of Administration Mzia Maisuradze and Head of International Relations Office Tamar Aslanishvili.

During the meeting, the project details were discussed and the activities to be implemented under the project were analyzed. Each university made a presentation of SWOT Analysis necessary for the elaboration of the mission, viewpoint and strategic development plan.
