TeSaU Hosted a Series of Workshops for Tourism Sector Stakeholders within the Erasmus+ ENRICHER-HUBs Project

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University (TeSaU) conducted first series of thematic workshops within the framework of the Erasmus+ ENRICHER-HUBs Project, bringing together external stakeholders, representatives of the tourism industry, and public sector representatives working in the field of tourism. Workshop took place 16-23 April 2026.

The workshops aimed to strengthen participants' knowledge of contemporary tourism practices by sharing academic expertise and practical approaches to sustainable tourism development, destination management, and innovative business solutions.

The training programme covered the following topics:

  • Sustainability in the Tourism Industry;
  • Sustainability and Tourism Impacts;
  • Destination Management and Destination Governance;
  • Business Model Canvas (BMC);
  • Trends and Changes in Consumer Behaviour in Tourism.

The workshops were delivered by Professor Tengiz Simashvili and Associate Professor Tamar Tamarashvili of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.

Throughout the workshops, particular emphasis was placed on sustainable tourism principles, effective destination management, practical applications of the Business Model Canvas, and the impact of changing consumer behaviour on the tourism sector. The sessions were highly interactive, encouraging participants to engage in discussions, exchange experiences, and explore practical solutions to current challenges facing the tourism industry.

The workshops attracted significant interest from participants, who actively contributed to discussions, shared their professional experiences, and highly appreciated both the relevance of the topics and the practical value of the training. Participants emphasized the importance of continuing similar capacity-building activities to further strengthen cooperation between the university and stakeholders in the tourism sector.
