Telavi State University marked World Environment Day within the framework of the Erasmus+ project “3E-Partnership.”
The event was opened by Maka Kochauri, the institutional coordinator of the project, who presented to the audience the activities carried out under the project in the field of energy efficiency and spoke about the Energy Laboratory established at the university through the same initiative.
Associate Professor Natia Bagatrishvili from the Faculty of Education Sciences delivered a presentation dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on their integration into the teaching of natural sciences. Together with students, she also presented a STEM model on alternative energy sources.
Lika Tandilashvili, a first-year Master’s student of the Ecology programme, under the supervision of Professor Magda Davitashvili and Associate Professor Nana Berdzenishvili of the Faculty of Agricultural, Natural Sciences and Technologies, delivered a presentation on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.
The event concluded with a tree-planting activity, during which TeSaU students and professors planted several olive trees in the university’s demonstration plot.
World Environment Day at Telavi State University was organised within the Erasmus+ “3E-Partnership” project and supported by the Faculty of Agricultural, Natural Sciences and Technologies.
World Environment Day has been celebrated globally since 1973.
