On September 17-20, 2024, Telavi University hosted a workshop conducted by Swedish professors. The meeting was held within the framework of the CIF project (integration of innovative agro-technologies in educational programs).

At the meeting, the Swedish colleagues heard information about the viticulture and winemaking program at Telavi University, and saw the material and technical base that is used for the implementation of this program. In turn, the Swedish colleagues introduced the experience of the Swedish university about the functioning of the bioinformatics course to the heads of the program and the academic staff of the program. Work on bioinformatics syllabi was started at the meeting.

Within the framework of the project, 10 new courses should be developed in Telavi University in order to integrate innovative agro-technologies, and bioinformatics is one of them, which should be developed and introduced in Telavi University with the support of Swedish colleagues.

Within the framework of the project, a visit to Sweden with the academic staff of TeSaU and ALTE University was planned, which will take place in November of this year. During the visit, the Georgian colleagues will learn about the experience of the Swedish university on the bioinformatics course.
