On May 2-5, 2023, they visited Charles University (Czech Republic) within the framework of the European Union Erasmus + project "Responsible Conduct of Research - Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities" (ETHICS).
At the meeting, together with educational activities, future activities were discussed and planned.
During the work process, together with the Georgian side, the European partners presented their experience of the work of ethics councils in universities, normative documents related to academic integrity, training of professors and other interesting issues.
At the meeting, the working groups formed in accordance with the goals of the project and the stages of implementation of the planned works were presented in detail.
The first national project financed within the framework of the Erasmus+ institutional development program ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-3 will be implemented under the coordination of Ilia State University and will contribute to raising the research culture in universities. Its main objective is to improve research ethics and integrity mechanisms, procedures and services at the university level. Along with 10 Georgian universities, the consortium's European partners are the Free University of Amsterdam, Charles University, Masaryk University and the European Network/Association for Academic Integrity.
The non-university partners of the project are: the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the National Center for the Development of Education Quality and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
The project is financed by the European Commission and its duration is four years.
