Trainings on research commercialization, technology transfer and innovative researches are being conducted in TeSaU

On November 14, trainings on research commercialization, technology transfer and innovative researches for academic staff started at Telavi State University. The trainings are being leaded by Mr. Marty Kaszubowski, Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Consultant of George Mason University (America).

The purpose of the meeting is for professors and students to get to know how the foundation is being prepared for the commercialization of university research, as well as to be able to create a sustainable and development-oriented entrepreneurial ecosystem. Participants have the opportunity to acquire some theoretical knowledge to build relationships with industry, and the awareness of the academic and administrative staff will be increased in this area.

Within the framework of the trainings, a round table was held with the employees of TeSaU "Laboratory of Innovations", where Marty Kaszubowski made a presentation - "Creating an efficient ecosystem for entrepreneurship and technology transfer and strategies for conducting profitable research”. The topics discussed at the meetings were: "Development of entrepreneurial potential in higher education of transitional democracies - Examples and Challenges’’, “Processes of innovation, technology transfer and commercialization of scientific research in American universities” and others. The participants also learned about the best practice examples for the future development of the Innovation Lab.

The guest met with the head of Telavi Techno Park, where they discussed the cooperation between the University and Telavi Techno Park.

The trainings are being conducted within the framework of the University Capacity Building Program (UCBP), which is funded by the US Embassy and sponsored by the “American Councils for International Education”. The trainings are ended on November 19.
