UNICEF has granted books to TeSaU

On November 26th,  representatives of UNICEF granted books to Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. 32 English editions combine publications about Preschool Education BA Programmes. As the visitors mentioned during the meeting that was held in TeSaU, the abovementioned books will help lecturers and students in conducting scientific researches promoting expansion of students’ interests.

At the meeting TeSaU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Mr. Aleksandre Mosiashvili and Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Mr. Davit Makhashvili reported about the importance of cooperation between Telavi State University and UNICEF and preschool education in general. Head of the UNICEF representation in Georgia – Dr. Ghassan Khalil  and representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Ms. Tamar Toloraia gave TeSaU professor-teachers information about the future activities and emphasized the key role of child development and education at an early age.

In the second part of the meeting the representatives of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development spoke about the ongoing project and awarded TeSaU professor-teachers with the certificates for their participation in the trainers’ training of professional development training-module for pedagogues.

In September 2021, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UNICEF and Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. Within the framework of the abovementioned memorandum the Children’sRights Knowledge Centre is planned to be founded in TeSaU that will be renovated, equipped and secured with the infrastructure of information and communication technologies, as well as with the educational resources in children rights and inclusive education. Under the project, that covers 9 months, creation of modules, trainings and other arrangements are planned to be fulfilled with the purpose of raising awareness about children’s rights.
