The Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture is launching the "Forest Inventory and Taxation" professional training program

The Center for Environmental Information and Education of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture is starting to register trainees for the "Forest Inventory and Taxation" professional training program, the purpose of which is to train forest taxing specialists (forester-taxator).

Tuition is free for students enrolled in the program. Upon successful completion of the training course, trainees will receive a certificate recognized by the state and will be employed in the National Forestry Agency.

This program is intended for undergraduate, graduate students and graduates in forestry and/or related fields, and is aimed at strengthening the basic knowledge related to the forest, as well as improving the knowledge and skills needed to carry out forest inventory and taxation in the field. The stages of forest inventory include working with cartographic materials, collecting data on quantitative and qualitative indicators of the forest in field conditions, analysis and camera processing, appointment of forestry measures and creation of documentation, including the preparation of the final product of the inventory - a forest management plan.

The full duration of the program is 12 weeks and includes both theoretical and practical, as well as field training, which is carried out in the forest fund of the LSI Forestry Agency. During field training, the training load is 40 hours per week and involves performing inventory work, both in coniferous and mixed forest. During the practical training, the trainees will be divided into three groups, which will work in parallel mode, and each group will be led by one instructor-teacher. Within the framework of the program, the deterministic assessment is carried out twice and involves an oral/written survey and the implementation of the project - drawing up a forest management plan based on forest inventory indicators. Confirmation of deterministic assessments is a prerequisite for issuing a certificate.

After the successful completion of the "Forest Inventory and Taxation" professional training program, trainees will be able to carry out forest inventory field work, including: conducting measurement and assessment work in the forest, data collection, processing, reflection and analysis in the electronic program, will participate in forestry activities (forest use, forest maintenance -restoration and other) in planning and preparation of forest management plans according to the national qualifications framework and study areas classifier, the narrow field of the program is - 082; Detailed - 0821 Forestry, specialization - 0821.3.1 Forestry.

The program is implemented in cooperation with the National Forestry Agency of the State of Ukraine and with the financial support of the Professional Skills Agency.

Registration is possible from April 11 to April 20, 2023 on the website: vet.emis.ge, and the training process will start on April 26 of this year.
