The 7th International Symposium on Kartvelian Studies will be taking place on October 17th to 22nd, 2016 at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
The year 2016 is significant for Kartvelian Studies and culture as it is the year of the anniversaries of Shota Rustaveli and the founder of Tbilisi State University, Ivane Javakhishvili. The programme of the 7th International Symposium in Kartvelian Studies will be linked to these anniversaries and its main working theme will be ”Georgia in a context of European Civilization”.
The International Symposium welcomes papers on any topic relating to the Kartvelian Studies.
Registration fee (until August 1): 60 GEL for Georgian citizens; 50 US Dollars for foreigners.
Key Dates: The deadline for paper submissions is May 1, 2016. The application (in Georgian or English Languages) should include: (1) Title of the paper; (2) Brief summary, no more than a page (400 words), (3) brief information about the reporter (CV). The Organization Committee will send a letter of consent to each participant via the indicated email no later than June 2016. Deadline for participation fee is August 1, 2016. Late registration fee (from August 2): 120 GEL for Georgian citizens, 80 US Dollars for foreigners.
Symposium working languages: Georgian, English, Russian, German, French. All registered participants should send an extended summary of their reports (1-3 pages) in Georgian or in English languages (preferably in both languages). The abstracts will be published in Symposium proceedings.
Events planned during the Symposium: reception of the participants by TSU Rector; seeing the historical and cultural heritage of Georgia; a farewell banquet.

The symposium will be held under the patronage of the Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Vladimir Papava.
