On December 3, 2015, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) with the support of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) conducted a civic education seminar for Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University students. The seminar covered the topic “Gender Equality and Gender Violence in Georgia”.
The speakers of the meeting were Telavi Gender Media Center Director – Maia Mamulashvili and Kakheti Regional Coordinator of Gender Equality Journalists Network – Nana Kibishauri.
The seminar was dedicated to 16-days global campaign against gender violence and it aimed to raise youths’ consciousness in relation with the abovementioned themes.
Similar civic education seminars are periodically held in IFES partner universities as well.
