TeSaU Professors at Ferrara University (Italy)

On October 10-14, 2016, training courses in Clinical and Laboratory Haematology took place at Ferrara University (Italy). The courses were delivered under the EU program TEMPUS funded project – “The Development of a Curriculum and Establishment of a Regional Training Platform for Haematology in Medical and Fundamental Sciences (DECERPH)”.

The project coordinators are Westminster University and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Professor, Nino Porakishvili, vice-coordinator – Westminster University Professor, Peter Lydyard.

Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University is involved in the project along with the partner universities of Italy, Spain, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. 

TeSaU Dean of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, Professor Magda Davitashvili and TeSaU invited teacher, Doctor Leila Metreveli were among the training attendees. 

The training participants attended theoretical and practical courses planned by the organization team, Professors: Donato Gemmati (UNIFE), Bernardi Francesco (UNIFE) and Guglielmo Mariani (Westminster University). The participants visited modern labs of Haematology and bio-bank as well.

Scientific meetings took place at Ferrara historical Estense Castle conference halls. On October 14, TeSaU Professor Magda Davitashvili made a report about 3 years work on the project DECERPH.

TeSaU professors will use the experience gained at Ferrara University (Italy) during the teaching process of the newly introduced study course – “Haematology”.
