A Peace Corps Response Volunteer - Joe Dwaileebe conducts communicative competence workshops at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.
Session I of the workshops was held on February 15-16, 2016; Session II will be held on February 18-20 at Telavi State University Library.
The workshops aim to familiarize English teachers from the university and area schools with techniques and activities to enhance the communicative competence of their students. The focus will be on ways to engage students more actively in language learning and to make the classroom more student-centered. A wide variety of activities that maximize student participation will be presented, including the effective use of pair and group work and content-based instruction. The techniques presented will cover all skill areas and grammar, and attendees will leave precise ideas on how to make a lesson a more vibrant and engaging experience for their students.
