On March 13-17, 2022 Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University participated in the meeting organized within the framework of the EU-funded ERASMUS+ CBHE project “Role of Universities in the Regional Development” (RURD). Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) hosted the meeting in Kaunas, Lithuania. 

At the host university, meetings were conducted with the vice-mayor  of Kaunas, head of Communication and Technology Transfer Center, representatives of different faculties responsible for the university strategic planning, its implementation and monitoring. Telavi State University (TeSaU) representatives were also familiarized with the best practices of interrelation among the university, local authority and business sector.

The aim of the RURD project is based on European experience to improve the role of Georgian regional HEIs in the development of a region, to modernize Mission and Strategic Development Plan of regional universities, to strengthen cooperation between universities and local authorities to increase their capacity taking into account specification of each region.
