Under the joint project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection, a conference was held on January 18, 2017 at Environmental Information and Education Centre, Tbilisi. The conference was organized by LEPL Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection and supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The conference topic was – mercury.
At the conference, in which 16 students from different universities of Georgia were involved, 3 of them became the winner. Among them was Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University II course student of the Biology Bachelor Educational Program, faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences – Ketevan Photova (supervisor – Associate Professor Giuli Andronikashvili). She was awarded the certificate and appliance store coupon (300 GEL) for the most original work done around the topic – mercury.
TeSaU III course student of the Biology Bachelor Educational Program – Mariam Alborishvili (supervisor – Assistant Professor Darejan Margalitashvili) was the participant of the conference as well. She was awarded the certificate of participation.
The conference was attended by the deputy minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection, officials of the Ministry of Education and Science, universities and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) representatives.
