Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University two projects won the state scientific grants contest of fundamental researches.
The projects – “Academic Publication of XIX-XX cc. Georgian Writers’ Epistolary Legacy (VIII-IX volumes)” (scientific director – Ketevan Gigashvili, coordinator – Giorgi Gotsiridze) – won Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation grant for the third time, and the project – “Endangered Languages and Vital Importance of their Documentation (after the example of Tsovatush Language)” (scientific director – Arsen Bertlani, coordinator – Ketevan Gigashvili) – for the second time.
The first project covers textological and editorial studies and provides academic publication of Georgian writers’ personal letters with complete scientific apparatus. VIII-IX volumes will include Grigol Orbeliani’s letters like the previous 6 volumes of the volume series.
Under the second project, research will cover the fields of linguistics and language documentation. Tsovatush language grammar, texts and volume series of Tsovatush-Georgian-Russian-English Four Lingual Dictionary will be prepared and published.
These are three-year projects and their funding consists of 300 000 GEL.
