TeSaU Student was rewarded by the Chairman of Abkhazian Government

Telavi State University IV year student of the faculty of Humanities (specialization – History), Maia Akhalkatsishvili gained success in the contest announced for getting Dimitri (Arzakan) Emukhvar and Zhiuli Shartava scholarships. The contest was announced on the initiative of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia that involved students from different higher educational institutions of Georgia.  

TeSaU student’s work – “Georgian-Abkhazian Relations and Integration Perspectives” (supervisor – Associate Professor Aleksandre Mosiashvili) gained success and Zhiuli Shartava scholarship within 10 months.

Chairman of the Abkhazian Government Vakhtang Kolbaia along with the Abkhazian Government Minister of Education and Culture, Georgian honored artist Dimitri Jaiani visited Telavi State University on November 3.

Guests spoke about Georgian-Abkhazian relations, Zhiuli Shartava’s heroism and the contest as well.

Telavi State University Rector Irma Shioshvili made a speech before the Abkhazian Government officials, students and professor-teachers about the significance of scholarships named after the famous Georgians and stimulation of honored students.  

The Chairman of the Abkhazian Government rewarded the winner student Maia Akhalkatsishvili with the certificate and book depicting Zhiuli Shartava’s lifestyle. The guests were rewarded with special gifts by TeSaU Rector as well.
