The National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University are going to implement a joint project – “Telavi – the History and Contemporaneity”.
With the support of the National Archives, Telavi State University professors will work on the unexplored material. This is the first time for conducting the research about the history of Telavi. The project aims at investigating the tendencies of Telavi development at the end of XIX century and in the first twenties of XX century on the basis of authentic, original archival sources.
The project provides academic publication of the history illustrated with proper photos and documentary material kept in the National Archives of Georgia.
The project covers a year and the group of researchers will get free archival service during that period.
Cooperation memorandum between the parties will be signed on February 10th, 12:00 at Telavi State University by the Director General of National Archives Teona Iashvili and Telavi State University Rector Irma Shioshvili.
